When we consider skincare, we spare no effort in maintaining the beauty of our face. We bend our efforts to find a suitable way out of all the skin problems related to our face. But do we equally care about our other body parts? If we miss to take care of our feet, it might lead to cracked heels, peeling feet etc... Dead skin is nothing but the result of unmanaged dry skin in our feet. Knowing more about dead skin on our feet will save someone's skin!

Causes that attribute to dead skin on our feet:

As stated above, unmanaged feet is the prime factor that contributes to dead skin. There are a couple of other reasons that might fetch in this problem and those are listed below:
  • Frequent exposure of our feet to hot water
  • Usage of harsh or chemical soap
  • Heat and humidity due to the usage of certain shoes or any closed type of footwear etc ...
  • Natural aging process
  • Eczema
  • Certain medications
  • Psoriasis
  • Winter/weather conditions might also be a factor

Management of dry skin:

If we manage our skin with care, this condition would have never existed. So, the key to unlock this problem lies in proper management of our skin. Here are a few tips to deal with this efficiently: soak feet

1. Soaking your feet daily

A simple yet effective way to take care of our feet. Just take lukewarm water in a bucket or tub and add a few drops of essential oils like argan oil. Instead, one can opt to use fresh lemon juice or Epsom salt, or peppermint oil. Soak your feet in this for at least 15 minutes. Doing this daily helps us to get rid of dry skin. scrub feet

2. Exfoliate/Use a scrub

Once the soaking process is done, we will need to scrub it. The management of feet is almost the same as how we manage our face. This is in fact, the primary step to remove the dead skin cells. One can make use of coffee scrub or even sugar scrub. Honey, warm water and sugar could also be preferred. Use a foot brush and scrub the toes, heels, and sides of the feet to do away with dead skin cells.

3. Use a moisturizer

Just like we use a moisturizer for our face to keep it hydrated, we can use the one exclusively available for our feet to sustain the moisture. If you prefer a natural one, you shall use coconut oil. It is advisable to use a moisturizer when the feet are damp so that the skin remains hydrated.

4. Overnight hydration

Overnight hydration is highly effective in getting rid of this problem. Pour in a bit of oil and apply it on your feet gently; wear socks and leave it overnight to witness super soft feet in the morning. Gel-lined socks can be an added advantage.

feet peel

5. Foot peel

Take some aspirin and transfer it into a bowl and keep it away. This is usually done after you soak your feet for 15 minutes. So, before soaking your feet, this aspirin bowl should be set ready. Now, pour lemon juice in it and make a paste. Apply this paste on your feet. Wrap this with some plastic. Ideally, after this one can apply a moisturizer. Mitchell USA Anti-aging Foot Cream - Intensive Deep Nourish is an ideal all in one remedy for this. It deeply nourishes your feet.
